There are several excellent fishing spots in the area.
Recapture Reservoir: This is a 265-acre impoundment north of Blanding, just off of Hwy 191. It has shoreline access for bank fishermen and has two asphalt boat ramps. Boat angling is possible with most sized craft and launching float tubes and pontoons can be done from many access points.
The lake contains largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill and green sunfish, northern pike and black bullhead. Read more here(opens in new tab).
4th Reservoir: This reservoir has plenty of shoreline access points and a small boatramp for boats without gas motors. It has a self-sustaining Largemouth bass population along with stocked trout. Read the fishing report here(opens in new tab).
Other fishing locations:
- 3rd reservoir - Similar situation to 4th reservoir.
- Dry Wash - Great location for small trout fishing.
- If you’re up for a hike, there is great stream fishing in Indian Creek. (Take Red Ledges trail towards Aspen Flat, about 1 mile each way.)
